In 1915, P.D.Ouspensky, one of the most
prominent
thinkers of the 20th century, met G.I.Gurdjieff, who revealed to him
the
system of ideas he had been searching for in his studies and travels.
After
establishing himself in England and later in the USA, he devoted his
life
to teaching the ideas now known
as the Fourth Way.
The austere manner in which he delivered
lectures,
in accordance with the times, won him the
reputation of a severe intellectual,
but, as this book shows, he was also a warm-hearted man with
an extraordinary
insight into people, as well as history and science.
His books Tertium Organum and A New Model
of the Universe
were forerunners to his In Search of the Miraculous
and The Fourth Way.
They introduce a new way of living in the ordinary circumstances of our
lives.
In this book Bob Hunter sets out to give a new perspective on Ouspensky to whom we owe a great debt of gratitude.
Bob Hunter (1934) worked as a writer in his native
Australia
and also in England, where he joined a Fourth Way Group.
